Bad news from Flores

While being on a trip to Portugal, Antonio’s, CU8AS house at Ponta Delgada, Flores burned down completely. Only the walls remained. A special police task force tried to find out the reason for the fire but without success.

Antonio lost everything including material of his home station. Fortunately, most of the material which has been used on various expeditions was stored at his shack which is approximately 3 km away near the Albarnaz lighthouse.

Antonio plans to rebuild the house and to enlarge it at the same time. However, this needs time and for sure the house will not be ready before end of January 2010.

CQWW 160m CW Contest cancelled

Due to this situation we have to cancel our planned participation into the CQWW 160m CW contest end of January 2010. See you 2011 again in the 160m contest!
