Announcement 2010 IOTA Contest activities

We plan two separate activities for the 2010 IOTA contest:

• Insua island, EU-150, 41°51’33N 8°52’29W

The Insua island activity is a joint operation of the group around OM Lopes, CT1CJJ and his son Filipe, CT1ILT and Jose, CT1EEB with members of the Azores IOTA contest team: Antonio, CU8AS, Arlindo, CT1EGW, Luis, CT1EEQ, Rudi, HB9CQL and Hermann, HB9CRV / CT3FN. Participation is foreseen in the Multi-Operator DXpedition category, low power, and with the antenna limitations of one element per band (e.g. dipole, vertical). Call sign: We will apply for CS2T.

• Westmanns Island, EU-071, 63°25’63N 20°16’37W

Three members of the Azores IOTA contest team will run the IOTA contest 2010 from TF-Island. Franz, DF6QV +XYL Ulla, Jürgen,DJ2VO and Lutz, DL9DAN + XYL Sabine,DO4YSN will activate the Westmanns island, IOTA EU-071, located south west of Island. They will arrive on Saturday 17th and will be active from Sunday 18th of July until Tuesday 27th of July. Outside the IOTA contest it is planned to be active with 2 stations on 10m - 160m in CW, SSB and digital modes.
